Response To The Question On Bride Last Name Change & Cashing Checks In The Maiden Name

For the sake of discussion – Let us say, that the name change has taken place. Even with certain bank practices being regulated or usual, there can be creative ways a specific bank representative accommodates the paperwork void between single to married.

Scenario 1 - Smaller Bank or Independent Home Town Bank – Check In Maiden Last Name

If the check is made to Janet as the account holder, and in her maiden name, a bank may or may not cash the check.
